Incredible
Agreed! The Escape > Tiny Giants is incredible. The Clear Light > Eternal Groove is just out of this world though.
I thought Rob played one more show in NYC, but if not, I am so glad I was there for this show. Amazing, I wish they'd come back with Rob (the Catskill Chill performance in 2010 was... disheartening)!

Subject:
the last great hurrah
So this is the last Rob show that U-Melt ever played. True to form, it bears the brilliance that this select 4 musicians were able to conjure on a nightly basis.
Its fitting that they went out near the end of the show, deep in the 2nd set, with what could very well arguably be THE best completely spontaneous, formless Type II jamming the band ever did in the transition from Escape into Tiny Giants.
George keeps the beat going, and for the next 4 minutes, we are greeted with unscripted, untethered U-Melt jamming brilliance. It rivals the 2/11/06 Eternal Groove and 3/3/07 Schizophrenia as some of the very best things this band ever performed onstage. Brilliant, through and through.
